snOMG

Since the "snowpocalypse" hit the East coast, I have been:

1. Jealous that Austin has been so cold, but there has been absolutely NO payoff for the 30+ degree weather. We have been in a snow drought.
2. I have been LOVING the great snow terms that have come out of this.

My personal fave has to be snOMG- LOVE it! So, when it FINALLY, decided to snow in Austin on Tuesday I was thrilled. Never in my life have I seen it actually snowing. I had school and work, so I couldn't go out and build some snowmen. But, since I have the BEST view in the office- my desk is next to floor to ceiling windows- I got to enjoy the snow from the warmth. My boss and I did, however, contemplate on going out and partaking in a snowball fight. My personal fave was the tiny little
snowmen that people had made all over campus. Once I got to class, my friend Ameera showed me this pic (courtesy Ameera's facebook pics):

And it has boobs- really??? I DIED when I saw it. It was like college boys turned into little 10-year-old junior high boys overnight. Nonetheless, I laugh every time I see this pic.

I will leave you with one of my many snow videos:

Revamped Blog

Hey all,

Since I was so great bad at posting on my last blog, I decided I needed a fresh start. So, here is my new blog- complete with cute design and all. Hopefully, it will be more motivation for me to post more often. I'm determined that I can be a good blogger. It will be nice for me to have a space to unload at the end of the day. After all, since it's my last semester in grad school, things are pretty crazy, and I could use some time to unwind at the end of my day. So- I thought I'd go ahead and share with ya'll.

Enjoy,
Kira

I'll leave you with a poem that one of my professors has been quoting a lot lately-so it's been on my mind. I've posted the Spanish and English versions, but I'm biased and think the Spanish version always sounds better:

"Wanderer, your footsteps are
the road, and nothing more;
wanderer, there is no road,
the road is made by walking.
By walking one makes the road,
and upon glancing behind
one sees the path
that never will be trod again.
Wanderer, there is no road--
Only wakes upon the sea."
~Antonio Machado

"Caminante, son tus huellas
el camino, y nada más;
caminante, no hay camino,
se hace camino al andar.
Al andar se hace camino,
y al volver la vista atrás
se ve la senda que nunca
se ha de volver a pisar.
Caminante, no hay camino,
sino estelas en la mar."
